Dr. Steven Weston is originally from Paris, Illinois, a very small, rural town located in east central Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. After graduation, Dr. Weston traveled to Springfield, Illinois to attend medical school at Southern Illinois University and then to Marshall University, in WV for his general surgery residency.

Dr. Weston is a general surgeon that has done a variety of complex procedures throughout his career in the medical field. During his “wonder years” he trained with the only pediatric surgeon in the state of West Virginia. An extremely busy pediatric surgery program, Dr. Weston’s program has the only burn unit in the state so Dr. Weston has earned extensive training in burns, skin care and skin grafting.Today, Dr. Weston is a leading specialist in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of a myriad of vein issues – and has been actively pioneering new procedures and methods for enhancing surgical results for vein intervention.

Dr. Weston’s career in medicine started in high school when he worked at a pharmacy. Delivering patient aids, prescriptions and oxygen tanks steered him towards the healthcare profession. He received his introduction to trauma while in college while working as an emergency medical technician (EMT) for Barnes Hospital in Urbana, IL. Dr. Weston also worked briefly as a respiratory therapis before beginning medical school. While in medical school, Dr. Weston worked at The Memorial Medical Center and St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He has also worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Cabell Huntington Hospital and the VA Medical Center one of the largest teaching hospitals of its kind. Dr. Weston has spent the past 15 years of his medical career in Gastonia, NC and the surrounding areas at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Kings Mountain Hospital and Carolinas Medical Center in uptown Charlotte, NC.

Dr Weston and his wife, Lisa are happily married and raising 6 children together, 3 boys and 3 girls between the ages of 11 to 23. Dr. Weston’s hobbies include waterskiing, both as a slalom and barefoot water skier.
